about our eco conscious swimwear

in 2018 we began our sustainability journey by taking honest and transformative steps towards a more responsible future by developing eco-friendly swimwear and recycled swimwear collections.

each piece is crafted from regenerated nylon and manufactured in our Italian mill using environmental processes, so you can make a bold statement at the beach or by the pool with the earth in mind. from the fabric mill to our dye-house and factory, we are proud to be working with female-led communities. we’ve also zeroed in on every link in our production chain: learning, reinventing + making conscious efforts to minimise our impact on the environment.

our artisans utilise solar energy where possible to power the hand-dye process + and this collaborative approach allows us to experiment with new techniques and colours that complement each collection to keep bond-eye swim at the forefront of sustainable swimwear design.

our approach to eco-friendly swimwear

our eco-friendly swimwear is crafted using recycled yarn which is manufactured exclusively by a premium Italian mill. this fabric mill uses leading environmental processes and is powered by 100% renewable energy to reduce carbon dioxide emissions and water consumption. our partnership with this sustainable mill ensures bond-eye can continue to create covetable and unique sustainable swimwear.

outside of our eco-friendly swimwear materials, bond-eye is equally committed to our sustainable packaging. all bond-eye tags, labels and trims are made from recycled materials to further reduce our impact on the environment. on top of this, our garment bags are produced from plant-based materials that can be composted in home waste, to prevent leaching harmful chemicals into the soil.

but we have not stopped there. we have also partnered with UPPAREL, a company that reimagines the life of unwanted textiles and turns them into useful products. last year, we prevented 4,750.6 kg of textiles from being sent to landfill. this has also resulted in the prevention of 16,627.1 kgs of greenhouse gases from polluting our atmosphere.

since 2018, we have also partnered with i=Change, donating over $25,000, with $1 from every sale to three charities focused on environmental issues, women’s well-being + child welfare. these are just some of the initiatives our eco-friendly swimwear collection supports, so you can feel confident in your choice to shop our sustainable swimwear that has a positive impact on the planet.

inclusive eco-friendly swimwear sizing

our eco swimwear is unsized and our swimwear fabric generally fits across a size range of XS to L. by creating unsized eco swimwear, we cut down on excessive stock and reusing fabric off-cuts, with 80% of our range shaped from regenerated nylon derived from pre-consumer raw materials that would ordinarily go to waste.
